Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Portfolio Manager

Chris Long founded Palmer Square Capital Management, an approximately $27 billion AUM asset manager focused on corporate and structured credit, in June 2009. Currently, he serves as Chairman, CEO and Portfolio Manager. Since inception, Chris has been successful in building one of the premier credit investment firms in the world with an enviable client list that includes not only large institutions and family offices, but also RIAs, bank/trust, and broker-dealers.

Prior to starting Palmer Square, Chris built a deep investment background at some of the top financial firms in the world including Morgan Stanley, TH Lee Putnam Ventures, and JPMorgan & Co. Chris’ breadth of investment experience includes hedge fund investing, private equity / venture capital, and finally, investment banking. 
He received an MBA degree from the Harvard Business School and an AB degree in Economics cum laude from Princeton University.

In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, Chris proudly serves in many roles related to Princeton University including serving on the Alumni Council Executive Committee; Princeton Schools Committee; President Eisgruber’s Advisory Council and also as a member on the Capital Campaign Executive Steering Committee. Finally, Chris is a Princeton Varsity Club lifetime member. In his region of Kansas City, Chris serves as co-chair for the Greater Kansas City Region’s Alumni Schools Committee effort and is vice president of the regional association, PAA of Greater Kansas City. In addition, Chris is on the committee responsible for the KC Princeton Prize in Race Relations. Chris is also a Chair of Special Gifts (20th) – Harvard Business School and is a member of YPO and the Economic Club of Kansas City.

Formerly, Chris was appointed by Kansas Governor Sam Brownback and unanimously approved by the Senate to two terms as a Trustee for the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS). Chris also formerly served as the Treasurer for the City of Mission Hills, KS. In addition, Chris formerly served as an Investment Committee member - Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art; Board Member - Children’s Mercy Hospital Foundation; Major Gifts Chair (15th) - Harvard Business School;  Trustee- St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School; and Ingram's 250 - Most Powerful Business Leaders in Kansas City.

Angie Long is Chief Investment Officer and one of two Principal Owners for Palmer Square Capital, where she has key responsibilities for all investment-related activities.

With her leadership, the firm has grown Assets Under Management (AUM) to more than $27 billion and has expanded its global presence, notably with the recent establishment of a London office. She is widely regarded as a pioneer in the credit derivatives industry and is credited with creating the HYDI (High Yield Debt Index), the first liquid credit trading index and predecessor to all of today’s indices (the Markit CDX).

Additionally, she is one of the architects of the firm’s leadership investment strategy in Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs). With more than 20 CLOs issued, including three in Europe, Palmer Square is one of only nine CLO managers among 128 with zero downgrades. Additionally, Angie’s vision was behind the firm’s proprietary scoring system to identify and evaluate fund performance in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) metrics, with all three European funds ESG compliant.

Angie’s career includes experience at JPMorgan Chase & Co. where she was named a Managing Director at age 29 and held many senior roles including Deputy Head of North American Credit Trading, Head of High Yield Trading, and Head of Credit Derivatives Trading. In addition, she worked with the Global Head of Credit Trading to help oversee risk management for the High Yield and High Grade credit trading books.

Angie received an AB degree in Economics from Princeton University and was a member of two National Championship Rugby teams and named an All-American in 1997. Angie has continued her involvement with Princeton as she served on the Women in Leadership Committee of Princeton, founded the Greater Kansas City Princeton Women’s Network (PWN), and is currently serving as Co-Chair for the Princeton Greater Kansas City Region’s Alumni Schools Committee.

Jeff has key responsibilities for the firm’s structured credit and CLO platform.

Prior to joining Palmer Square, Jeff worked for Sandler O’Neill and Partners where he was a Managing Director within Fixed Income where he was involved in the structuring and sales of many products including Collateralized Loan Obligations. Before Sandler O’Neill, Jeff worked for Societe Generale as a Director within Global Markets Advisory where he was instrumental in the US CDO/CLO and RMBS Credit Advisory effort. His work included the restructuring of various structured credit legacy positions for European institutions as well as the modeling behind the corporate rating and pricing for various structured products.

Prior to Societe Generale, Jeff was employed by JPMorgan Chase & Co/Bear Stearns, where he was an Associate Director in the FAST organization focusing on the structuring of Trust Preferred CDOs and CLOs. Also while at Bear Stearns, Jeff managed the global CDO analytics desk which included intensive credit modeling of various asset classes.

Jeff received a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from Arizona State University and a Bachelors of Science in Geology and a Minor in Mathematics from Northern Arizona University. Jeff holds the Series 7 and 63.

Managing Director/Portfolio Manager

Matt is the Portfolio Manager for the Firm’s US CLO management platform and private business development company (“BDC”), and has key responsibilities for all of Palmer Square’s leveraged loan product offerings and risk management. He is a member of both the US and European CLO investment committees, as well as a member of the Firm’s private BDC investment committee.

Prior to joining Palmer Square, Matt worked at Golub Capital in Chicago, most recently as an Associate Portfolio Manager within the Broadly Syndicated Loan Group where he focused on investing in leveraged loans via CLOs and separately managed accounts. Prior to joining Golub Capital, Matt worked at Giuliani Capital Advisors in Chicago as an Analyst and subsequently Associate in the Investment Banking Group where he focused on special situations and restructuring mandates.

Matt earned an MBA in Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, as well as a BS and BGS in Business Administration and Economics, respectively, from the University of Kansas

Jon is a Portfolio Manager with key responsibilities for the firm's European bank loan and US corporate credit strategies. In his role, Jon manages the firm's European CLO products as well as the firm's Income Plus and Short Duration strategies.

Jon has 18 years of professional experience in the global credit markets spanning analyst, trading and portfolio management roles. Prior to joining Palmer Square, Jon was a Senior Analyst at Hermes Investment Management, a London-based asset manager. At Hermes, Jon's focus was credit research coverage of the auto, basic material, and industrial sectors. Before that, Jon was a portfolio manager for a multi-strategy credit fund at BCM & Partners, LLP, having spent several years before that as a credit analyst at BCM and LNG Capital, LLP. Jon started his career as a systems engineer at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Dallas.

Jon earned an MBA from London Business School, a Master’s degree in Economics from Southern Methodist University as well as Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Management Science. He is also a CFA® charterholder.

Managing Director/Portfolio Manager/Head of Structured Credit Trading

Taylor joined Palmer Square in 2013 and is a member of the firm's structured credit investing team, as well as head of structured credit trading. He is responsible for trading the firms CLO, CMBS, RMBS, and ABS investments.

Prior to joining Palmer Square, Taylor worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York. Taylor was an integral part of the firm’s North American foreign exchange business serving as Associate Product Controller. In particular, Taylor played a key role in all financial operations and management of JPMorgan’s Forward and Spot foreign exchange trading desks. He began his career at JPMorgan as part of the firm’s Corporate Development Program, a two year selective leadership development program. Prior to JPMorgan Chase & Co., Taylor worked at Frontier Investment Bank, a boutique investment bank based out of Kansas City.

Taylor received a BA in Economics from Cornell University. During his time at Cornell, Taylor was a member of four top ten NCAA Wrestling teams, and traveled to Beijing in 2008 to represent team USA in the FILA Junior World Championships. He is also a CFA ® charterholder.

Managing Director/Head of Corporate Credit Research

Theo is a credit analyst and directs Palmer Square's corporate credit research efforts.

Prior to joining Palmer Square, Theo was a Senior Analyst at Goldman Sach in London. His work at Goldman consisted of fundamental analysis and idea generation within the high yield and distressed credit markets. As a distressed analyst, he participated in several debt restructurings, equitizations and corporate turnarounds. Before that, Theo was a high yield portfolio manager and analyst at Investec Asset Management, having spent several years before that as a senior credit analyst at Blue Mountain Capital Management, a credit hedge fund.

Theo earned an MBA at the Thunderbird School of Global Management as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Kansas. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
